I'm doing great! Always quite busy with work, but looking forward to enjoying the holiday weekend. I'm married now, so that's new (and cool).


So where has everyone gone? This place seems to have quieted down quite a bit. I've been on Dakka a bit more lately, I think partially because it's been slower here. But that might be a sort of circular problem.

Same shitty job, same rut.

Buy my gaming PC is running, summer's here, and I'm contemplating buying a bigger fan to stop said PC sitting in a cloud of it's own waste heat.

And I'm planning upgrades/repairs to my car, now the cost of insuring it has dropped. Mostly, replacing the bumper, maybe the fuel tank/fuel pump to get rid of 15 years of accumulated shite.
And the seal of grime over the leaking sump is back, so it's stopped dribbling oil wherever I park it. And I've learned my lesson now; next oil change, I am NOT wiping the sump clean.

It is a lot quieter in here these days, I occasionally drop in, when I'm not galavanting around the world scaring pirates and pretending to do work.

Congrats on the wedding, it was our ten year anniversary this month, time flies!

It HAS been slow in here. From my end, it's all been baby prep and commission painting.

Hooray, I got a pay rise. 10.7 pence an hour. I think that makes it ~1.5%. Which is what public sector workers are striking over because that's an insult when it happens to them.

Bitch, I do more work in a day than most of them get up to in a week. And WE don't go on strike over it.
In fact, I'm tempted to go shout at the protestors next time they strike, and accuse them of being lazy overpaid bureaucrats.

Development:
I'm looking for a new(er) car. Because I'm sick of my current one being a white elephant. Fun, but breaks easy. Dropped a wheel bearing the other day, and that was a £180 fix.

Plan is to get a bank loan, and go buy a used (but newer) car outright with said loan, and pay it off over 2-3 years.

2011 ford focus. I'll be making payments for 3 years, but worth it.

Yup. For a new shape one of that age, it's pretty cheap. 42k miles on it already from the previous owner, though, but OH GOD it's so good compared to my 15 year old Astra.

Not as fast, though, which saddens me. I think I have to fuck with the traction control and ECU settings to get it out of economy mode.

I'm still alive. Car's working out well. Discovered that the performance issues were due to it wanting premium unleaded.

No pay rise this year, because the company ain't doing so well. Career shifted sideways, so now I work in the warehouse. No customers, but I have new scrapes every day. I get to listen to music, though. So it's not all bad.
Still working on the van driving thing. I think some other company poached all the instructors, so I may be down to just taking the test over and over again until I pass.
