In case you missed it, Whembly. On a recent discussion about the Iran deal on Twitter with someone whose bio included something like “The left is cancer”, after answering to accusations that I was only saying the deal was good because it was made by Obama and destroyed by Trump, to which I replied insisting that no, it was personal for me because of my friends and family living there and actually suffering consequences in a way that someone focused on US internal politics, I got this answer: which is heartwarming and did restore a bit of my faith in humanity. Seriously, the whole “The Iranian government is bad so breaking the deal is okay” is so much bullshit. It's like stealing money from an abusive husband/father and responding to any accusations about it by saying “Why are you defending an abusive man?”, while at the same time being best pal with someone who sends his wife to the hospital every week. Not only is it obviously hypocritical (if you care about the abusive part, you wouldn't be friend with the worst abuser) but it's worse than this, because even if we ignore that friendship, you aren't helping the abused wive and children, quite the opposite. The end result is that the wife and children, those you fucking pretend to care about, end up not having enough to eat because of the money you stole (look up at inflation rates in Iran, those are terrible!!!) and the abusive guy will pass his nerves on them (and you can be sure that destroying the deal also destroyed the credibility of every reformist and progressive in favor of it…). Think about that, Whembly. Maybe you'll notice that, thanks to Trump emboldening the hardliners in the regime, cutting off basically all means to put pressure on the regime, and pushing them to look for bargaining ship, Fariba Adelkhah is now arrested and in prison, but who cares really, all that matter is to say the deal is bad because it was made by Obama! Who cares about the effect of the sanctions, which include limitations on medicine, are having on the population, when we can instead shout "BLACK MAN BAD" .

I think Biden would curbstomp Trump from what its worth. As long as he doesn't do things stupid (like campaigning on "you can keep your doctor" on his healthcare plan). Just provide a rational contrast to Trump. Shouldn't be too hard... Will you vote for him over Trump? Or will you find a small, independent candidate to vote for?

The whole thing is especially weird as hell coming from a man whose whole campaign is centered on a premise that America isn’t great and from a crowd that embraced the idea.
To MAGA, you have to assume that America isn’t great to begin with.

I guess it fits his thinking with his 2020 slogan. America was shit before 2016 because Obama and Mexicans so he was going to fix it. Now thanks to dear leader the country is great so fuck off!
But dear god don't call it racist or every repub comes out of the corner they were cowering in from Trump to call you a socialist.

Meanwhile, in Maine, Sue Collins hewing to the party line in regards to Trump's Justice choices has caused her approval rating among Republicans to surge... while at the same time to plummet among Democrats and Independents. (She had previously enjoyed bipartisan support.) For a net drop in Approval and a Disapproval that is now higher than her Approval rating. It appears that backing Kavanaugh, against her constituents' expressed wishes, [/i]may[/i] have saved her from a Primary challenge - but has left her extremely vulnerable in the upcoming general election. Whoops. Vulnerable enough that she may yet face the Primary challenge she was so seeking to avoid by backing Kavanaugh. Again, whoops. Her support is now falling along party lines, with little to no cross aisle support. Jockey of Norfolk, be not bold. For Dickon, thy master's been bought and sold. The Auld Grump - similarly - my own respect for her all but vanished with her choice. (I have, in past elections, supported her against Democrats that I felt were poorer choices.)

I chose not to respond because I'd be repeating myself. You know where I stand on this.

Post-Kavanaugh and Post-Convington... FUCK. ALL. DEMOCRATS. The party and their sycophant media allies need to understand that wasn't okay... so, the only way to get the message across is for democrat to continually lose elections... until the move back to the center and stop being dicks. In any case, Missouri is going for Trump... hard. So, imma just stay home this election as no matter who I pick won't matter.

I don't get what the fuss is about with Kavanaugh. After all, the Democrats were only exercising their right to advice and consent.
/s just in case anyone is taking me seriously.

Why is it the dems always have to change? Why is it ok for republicans to always act like toddlers? Why is the assumption always that the dems are wrong and bad?

Maybe because I live i n swing state I have the delusion my vote matters, but post Trump? FUCK.ALL.REPUBLICANS
Oh, and Whemb? Between what he has done, and what he's about to do? I wouldn't hold my breath on Missouri going Republican at all, let alone 'hard'. Hell, Texas and Kentucky are toss ups at the moment.

Nope. Missouri has a hard-on for Trump. He'll have a 10pt advantage against whomever. I have no idea about Texas and Kentucky though.

Why is it the dems always have to change? Why is it ok for republicans to always act like toddlers? Why is the assumption always that the dems are wrong and bad? Because the dems have lost their ever loving minds. All they had to do, is be the rational one... but, post Trump you don't have an argument that it's democrats who's been acting like toddlers, particularly over the Covington ordeal and the Kavanaugh nomination.
