That argument only exists in Fantasyland. I'm not going to convince you, but any competent person looking in from the outside can see the long-term actions of the Republican party and how they're far and away worse than the Democrats. I'm not a big fan of the Democrats either, but at least they don't fucking operate concentration camps.

Republicans have been actively working to ruin American for at least 20 years, but it's democrats who are the crazy/destructive ones? LMFAO.

Who wants to pack the Supreme Courts?
Who wants confiscatory gun policies?
Who wants to repeal the Electoral College?
Who wants to provide free colleges?
Who wants to provide free healthcare?
But, it's republicans who have been actively working to ruin America for at least 20 years? lmao... if you want to know who's delusional... pick up a mirror.
Just look at the current crops of Democratic presidential candidates. They're all pulling even more leftward... hell, "moderate" Joey Biden is forced to move leftward, such that it may become a liability during the election.
This is all during the best economy that we've had for everyone. If you don't want to give credence to Republicans and Trump for that... fine... I think politicians take too much credit and blame for the state of the economy. But, you can at least grudgingly give credence to Republicans and Trump for not fucking it up, in the same manner that Bill Clinton gets credit for the economy during his administration (whom stayed the fuck out of its way).

The rest of the world seem able to do the college and healthcare bit just fine. Listing that among things that make democrats "delusional" is just plain stupid. Similarly, abolishing the electoral college isn't seeking to ruin America, unless "America" is dependent on one side having built-in institutional biases in the electoral system, in which case America can't die soon enough.
The Supreme Court wouldn't be an issue if the Republicans had had a shred of decency and held nomination hearings for Garland like they were fucking supposed to. Play stupid games, win stupid prices. You're mad at the Democrats because they won't take Republican de-facto court stacking lying down? You fucking cheered the Republican on through the whole colossal mess in the first place!
That leaves gun policies on which we can agree to disagree.
In the other corner, FUCKING CONCENTRATION CAMPS. Why is this so hard?

I'm going to make a double post just to drive home how utterly crazy it is to think that wanting free healthcare and education is on par with chanting "Send them back!" about a group of people where 75% were born in the US.

It always impresses me how delusional republicans are. "The richest country in the world can't do things other, poorer countries can! That's crazy! How dare people want their vote to actually matter instead of being in the hands of electors!"
(Also, go take a look at when the economy started to recover, and remember who was in office. Hint: It wasn't a republican.)

Who wants to repeal the Electoral College? Who wants to provide free colleges? Who wants to provide free healthcare? Even a broken clock is right twice a day. So maybe even a broken moral compass is right sometime and you'll end up voting for a Democrat. But all of those are good things. Really, the most prestigious college should be paying students that pass the competitive exams to enter there. That is, if you value your society being a meritocracy instead promoting social reproduction and hereditary social castes. Do you value meritocracy, Whembly? I doubt that, that would mean valuing people regardless of how and where they happen to be born and we can't have that. You know how they joke on Dakka about how GW could offer you free models and haters would still complaint? Whembly is that, for democrats.

You know where I stand on this. Yeah, a mix of “BLACK MAN BAD” and “America fuck yeah”, where a position is the morally correct position if and only if it aligns with US interests, regardless of anything usually associated with ethics (i.e. being a fucking bully).

Who wants to pack the Supreme Courts? Both parities, but Republicans are the ones doing it. Along with all the other courts. Who wants confiscatory gun policies? No one. This is a scare tactic being run by Republicans. Who wants to repeal the Electoral College? Depends on who won the last election Who wants to provide free colleges? anyone concerned for the US middle class, since college loan debt has become the number one expendature for Americans. More so even than Mortgages. It took 20 years to finally pay mine off, and I've made good money. Who wants to provide free healthcare? Dems, since dead Americans tend to vote Republican. edit: quote is doing weird things now.

For me the main reason he shouldn’t be on the court is still the giant fit he threw when it looked like he might not be on the court.
Serving on the SCOTUS is a great responsibility and should be considered a duty that you approach with reluctance and awe, knowing that you will shape the lives of all people and the course of this nation. Bitching and moaning that you don’t get “your” seat, acting like it’s “your” right to be there, that’s what should disqualify you.

Given the power the SCOTUS wields, not just today but for decades after a decision is made, it is the very example of "anyone who actually wants the job is precisely the person who should be kept away from it".

I don't like the rapists. Do your prefer "the penis mightier" category? Sorry, I couldn't resist.
