How would you propose to prevent people from voting more than once? Dunno, look at literally any other working democracy in the world and pick one approach?
Or, actually, I've got one that would probably work that I think you'd support: ID requirements to vote. Combined with a massive push to ensure everyone has a state-provided ID card. None of this "oh, you've got to go to the DMV which is open once every fortnight in odd-numbered months" BS. Make sure you bend over backwards to give people valid ID, and only THEN change to a system where it's required.
I'm actually a bit confused by people complaining about the DMV only being open once in a while. Here it is open 5 days per week, 8-5. Also you can get a non-driver's ID card from the courthouse 5 days per week. Not to mention a passport at any Post office. Is it really that limited in other states?

Actually, I was asking about the DMV in particular and the abilities in your areas to get ID's. Are they really not open that much in your areas?

Not everyone has easy access to them, or the 2+ hours it can take. Some people don't own a car, and therefore can't get a driver's license either for example.

"Mr. Hockey Stick" Michael Mann lost his libel suit against Dr. Ball in Canada.
All he had to do, in order to win his libel suit against Dr. Ball, was to provide his R2 regression numbers (the ‘working out’) behind the world-famous ‘hockey stick’ graph.
Yet he refused.
Things that makes you go... h'mmmmmmm....

I have never heard of either of these guys before. So, to google! Fiver minutes later it is plainly clear that Ball is a crank and Mann is a media whore. Ball has had two lawsuits dismissed in the past, hilariously, one brought against him by Canadian MP (~Senator) Andrew Weaver, which was contemptuously dismissed thusly: Things that makes you go... h'mmmmmmm....It really, really doesn't. Two drama queens padding the pockets of bored lawyers might make for deep thinkering among the truthiness sniffing galaxy brains of the far flung interwebs, but not among rational persons.

Actually what's even more interesting is that Dr. Ball asserted a truth defense. He argued that the hockey stick was a deliberate fraud, something that could be proved or disproved if one had access to the data and calculations, in particular the R2 regression analysis, underlying it. Mann refused to produce these documents. He was ordered to produce them by the court and given a deadline. He still refused to produce them, so the court dismissed his case.

Yep, media whore's gonna media whore, right up til the last possible second when his bluff is called. Are you hoping this is the 'smocking gun' that will take down the Big Environment Lobby that is savaging the noble, plucky band of fresh faced oil and gas enthusiasts?

Are you hoping this is the 'smocking gun' that will take down the Big Environment Lobby that is savaging the noble, plucky band of fresh faced oil and gas enthusiasts? Real science requires open access to data, so that skeptics (who play a key role in all science) can see if results are reproducible. Mann's study was cited as *the* source in the UN IPCC 2001 report that substantiated the alarmist's view of man-made global warming, as well as used in citations in other studies. Yet over 8 years, Mann would not agree to surrender to an open court his math ‘working out’ – those arcane R2 regression numbers for his "hockey stick" graph. It's just another indication that the science of AGW is far from "settled". If Mann's R2 regression dataset is on the "up and up"... he shouldn't have issues in letting others try to reproduce his results. This isn't about looking for a 'smoking gun'... it's about the legitimacy of the methods used in proving/disproving AGW.

The science of global warming is settled. There have been countless studies done showing that it not only exists, but that's man-made. Anything else is the tobacco environmentally destructive lobbyists lying to you so you don't support anything that might limit their ability to do so.

It's not "settled" There are countless of studies that very much puts AGW in doubt.

There really aren't. The vast, VAST majority of the scientific community agrees on this. The minority who disagree we usually shills being paid to say why fracking is good or some shit. Here's a quick summary since I'm willing to bet you're too lazy to look this up yourself: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_consensus_on_climate_change
