And Moscow Mitch has already announced that Trump's nominee will be voted on in the Senate.
How many Senators for quorum?

If Biden wins he can still add more justices.

If Biden wins he can still add more justices. Could, but I doubt he will. because people will go "you can't do that or else the republicans will" he'll go "okay you're right" then the republicans will do that next time the supreme court is in danger of balancing out because of course they will

I think it comes down to how many vulnerable GOP senators there are who might block a vote if it will cost them the senate.
Or will the GOP trade the senate for a generation at the court.

I'm find myself grimly wishing that Covid was more lethal, so that more of these fuck-knuckles would die and maybe we'd have a chance going forward. Fuck this country.

What's the procedure for impeaching/removing SCOTUS judges like?

Well fuck. Hopefully, they can delay voting on a judge until after the election... which is unlikely, and that PoS McConnell is gonna try and push another judge through. Another question for the "law and order" crowd who supported Garland not getting a hearing and how they feel about the hypocrisy, but I'm sure we know the answer judging by the orange ring around their mouth.

What's the procedure for impeaching/removing SCOTUS judges like? The same as the procedure for President. Impeachment technically applies to all appointed executive positions, judges, and members of the house/senate (either via the constitution, laws, or congressional rules which mirror the constitutional process).
I doubt whoever gets in (if they get in) will be impeached though.
More likely, ramming a nominee through in the literal weeks before/after the election, would simply push the Democrats over the edge. They'd expand the court and make it majority their nominees (which is probably a lower bar than impeachment) and tell Republicans to fuck off first chance they get. McConnell's already making it clear that 'norms' are secondary to what you can technically do with the power you technically have.
But that assumes Trump's nominee gets through. Will he even nominate a reasonable candidate? His shitty nominees who have gotten through got through by being low profile enough to avoid serious scrutiny. A SCOTUS pick won't. It also seems possible McConnell will fail to get the nominee through before the election. Romney has already said he will vote it down, as has McSally. There are two to five other vulnerable Republican senators who likely don't want this issue on their plates before the election and others who probably want to run on it, including Trump.
I'd guess the vote will happen after the election. McConnell will claim mandate if Republicans remain the majority and ram it through. McConnell will just be a total moral coward and hypocrite if they lose the majority and ram it through in the lameduck session. That may still work, or it may not. Depends on how the Republicans who didn't want to vote on the issue before the election feel afterward.
Either way, yey. Just another shit on 2020 when we least needed it. I'm so fucking tired of bothering.
Hard to say what effect blatant hypocrisy on this issue with result in. The Republicans made a big deal of deny Obama a vote on his nominee for a whole year in 2016. How will the fickle sheep fuckers that are the 'silent majority' respond to ramming a nominee through when it's not even clear Trump will still be president/clear he won't be in 2021? I'd question the stupidity of this whole bag of shit sandwiches, but we're long past Republicans having any sense of thinking through consequences.

She held on, but lost within sight of the finish line. Very tragic. It feels like a new SCJ being pushed through is a done deal. The vulnerable GoP seats have so far always put on the moral reservations act before consistently pulling the lever anyway. Interesting times ahead to see what happens, if they actually push the balance to 3-6 and what the consequences will be (this feels like a dark Handmaiden joke setup waiting to hapoen). Even if Trump loses he will have marked the US for more than a decade to come.

They’re going to go ahead and try to replace her before the election. I really think you’re totally fucked America.

They won’t replace her before the election, but they’ll definitely cram it thru afterwards if they lose.

They won’t replace her before the election, but they’ll definitely cram it thru afterwards if they lose. I mean, they might? But I'd be reluctant to say they definitely will. Only 4 GOP senators need to vote it down to block it and there's at least that many who have already said they won't vote/are facing rough election chances that make the vote potential suicide. Of course, a bunch of things the GOP has done thus far should have been potential suicide so... Kind of waiting to see what more senators say? There haven't been a lot personal statements. Everyone seems to be awkwardly looking around in full realization of the complete clusterfuck they're facing.

Fuck Cancer.
RIP RGB... she was a titan.
For those whining about GOP/McConnell Garland hypocrisy, a few things: 1) As Biden said when he was in the Senate, McConnell stated that they would fill an open seat close to the election when the Senate and the Whitehouse are held by opposition party. 2) Democrats lost all credibility after the Kavanaugh hearing. 3) RGB was seated in 42 days. (there's now 44 days left till election). 4) GOP would electorally be screwed at the polls if they fucked this up before November 3rd. McConnell has the votes. 5) I give my heartfelt thanks to Harry Reid for nuking the filibuster on Judges during Obama's tenure. He set that precedent in motion:
