Lads please stop conversing with that big pile of dog shite. It won’t do any good. I said this before somewhere else but I’ll say it here; this November we find out if the USA is the country it thinks it is or the country everyone else thinks it is. That is an insult! Pure grade 1 white dogshite is at least useful for tanning! (Seriously, winning the pure was a pretty big business in Georgian London.)

Who moderates this place? Nobody does. We just shit on despic until he leaves.
I think I'll just go back to my usual questions about Iran, usually makes him squirm. So tell me despic, can you name someone, anyone that you could see taking the lead in case of an Iranian regime change? Or do you just count on Iranians playing the political russian roulette, like when they deposed the US-backed dictator, after the US organized a coup against a democratically elected, progressive leader? Can you name anyone, or are you just the guy who plays carelessly about other people's lives because... he is despicable.

While we're at it, please justify the destruction of the USPS sorting machines.

Welp, I guess wolf will get what they want. The system is going to burn.
It looks like the GOP is going to push to fill the seat before the election and seems to have enough votes to do it unless someone does a sudden flip.
And that's likely the nail in the coffin.
The Republicans have been destroying the legitimacy and integrity of the system for the past six years at least with reckless abandon, and they're set to finally end it. The 2020 election maybe doesn't even matter anymore. By filling the seat before it's even held, the Republicans could win across the board and still lose all credibility. Even if Democrats sweep the board, it'll probably amount to nothing as their base demands radical action in response to unfair play, send the Democratic party into the same spiral the right fell into. Moderates are too fucking fickle to have any meaningful say. Holding power will be the only thing that matters either way and that's how systems die.
I can't see this as anything but a final assurance that the Trump years will be the new norm and the old norm cannot be returned to.
Basically;
I said this before somewhere else but I’ll say it here; this November we find out if the USA is the country it thinks it is or the country everyone else thinks it is.
I bet that it will very soon be neither. The unfortunate timing of RBG's death and the Republican response to it is likely to completely upheave the US in the long run, if not this year then a later one.

Welp, I guess wolf will get what they want. The system is going to burn.
For the record, I don't think it's a good thing, and it certainly isn't high on my list of "wants," and this could have been avoided if action had been taken a decade or two ago. It could have been avoided if the entirety of the GOP weren't either spineless cowards content to lick boots, or wannabe-fascists looking for an excuse to show their true colors. I just think that this is the inevitable result after the GOP abandoned any semblance of fairness as I only really see two realistic options left now. Either let the GOP keep doing what it wants, and tut-tutting and issuing strongly worded letters, and taking years to litigate issues through the courts, and attempting to play by the unwritten rules and cede all power to them in the mean time, or stoop to their level and prevent them from nakedly forming a dictatorship they're very clearly heading to. Both options suck, but the latter is better than the former, even if it isn't by much in the long run. But honestly, worrying about what the US might be like in 10 years when both parties are attempting to stay in power at all costs is infinitely preferable to ceding all power immediately to the GOP, the party of literal nazis. Again, that's just my thoughts on it. I want the dems to stoop to the GOP's level because their current tactics have been failing miserably for the last ~10-20 years at the very least.I'd argue since at least the 70s or the 80s, if not well before then, it's just entering it's death throes.

So it turns out the US embassy in the Netherlands allowed our local far right party (who are just a little bit off just plainly screaming "we must get rid of all non-whites) to fundraise in the embassy. Good to see the US government enabling and supporting our domestic white supremacists/authoritarians, simply amazing.....

We literally just had Trump tell an all white crowd at a rally what great genes they have.
I'd be offended if they didn't pander to Nazis in other countries and continue the proud American tradition of meddling in things that don't need meddling.

If only the US had some class like Russia and tried to hide it a little, most of the time our guys have to go over to the US to fundraise for their white supremacist circle jerks. Just as Trump himself has great genes, all the people who look roughly like him must have them too right?

Why bother trying to have a serious conversation in that place? It can’t handle it and the mods aren’t capable of dealing with it.
Also I’m having bad thoughts about that executive order...it’s absolutely insane and yet...here we are.

Also, while we're at it, please explain what "fascism" is for us whembly. It's a movement that puts the collective nation (or race) above the individual freedom. Where the hallmarks are various suppression of the opposition party or groups. Hence why the governance tends to be autocratic or even dictatorial. The US is the opposite of that doncha think?
As the kids say these days, "oof". That aged like milk.

It's amazing how it took 14 hours for whembly's definition of fascism to pop up not once, but twice. There's your "oppressing opposition groups" and "autocratic or dictatorial leadership".

The third section is a new kind of crazy. Attacking local governments because you have no decency and hate democracy???
