Has anyone followed Dreamforge Games since early January? Has Mark Mondragon walked back his support of the attempted coup since then? Wasn't this brought up on dakka? I think he kind of "walked it back" by deflecting and saying "I'm just saying this stuff because friends got banned and I have no idea what it meant, I'm just really angry about my freezepeach." Just reread it and I’m still not convinced. It sounds like a purchase from him probably sends money to Ron Paul, who disgusts me. It’d feel like buying miniatures from QAR. I’m going to hope he puts out a statement that reads less like “I became suddenly concerned about censorship only when it applied to right wing sociopaths and terrorists.” His statement on Dakka doesn’t do it for me. |

Oh yeah, I'm not defending him by any means. I think he's only sorry now that people are calling him out on it, and since (I think) he's no longer working with dreamforge (again, big IIRC on that). He's pulled just about every excuse out of his ass with "I'm really sorry," "I didn't know what it meant," and "I was doing it for a friend." He seems like a scumbag as far as I can tell.

Not sure everypony agrees on that. Well, I'm open to learning. I admit I don't know much about the subject, I'm curious to find out more. Also, I will consistently fail to actually consider your opinions and will repeat the same pro-Rainbow Dash talking points without changing my position one bit. I just wanted to say that this cracked me up, thanks for a good laugh  ! |

I don't think RiTides will deal with them right now as he's usually been kicking the can down the road to the future mod team, unless it's a super pressing and vital matter of changing a thread's title. If GBT and baron become mods, probably not either, potentially not if even just GBT becomes a mod and does his usual shtick of being a smug asshole until he gets what he wants (but remember, he's always willing to compromise as an E N L I G H T E N E D C E N T R I S T)

I think a few members already left that site, and no matter who the mods are more will leave next week.
I’m also confused why he brought up Trump’s Twitter ban. He was banned for inciting violence, something even RITides would ban him for. What conversation was he hoping to develop there?

I hate that RiTides is essentially just throwing his hands up and not even taking the most basic of actions. I mean, I wasn't expecting much, but I wasn't really expecting literally nothing.

It feels a bit like double standards. Prof (and he was a real asshole) got kicked for inciting violence three times, but did he? For the sake of argument:
1. Advocating that they should let people in Texas freeze to death. That's technically not inciting violence, but government inaction. Is it so different from advocating we should let people die of Corona (government inaction) to save the economy? Its just more socially acceptable to say the latter. In both cases we have preventable deaths based on the inaction and stupidity of elected officials.
2. Wishing more rioters should have been shot. Now here is a clear example for inciting violence. But then again Grey and QAR have gone on to blame the victims of the Charlottesville attack. Aren't they just two sides of the 'they deserved it' coin? I can see how one can be taken worse, but it still feels similar to me.
3. Using a picture of the woman that got shot as an avatar. Very horrific and distasteful, but is that inciting violence? Its good that this sort of shit gets removed, but it doesn't exactly live up to the bar does it? Would using a picture of George Floyd with the knee on his neck then also be seen as incitement? This feels more like the third strike because it ties in to point 2, but then I would happily refer to the victim blaming of Floyd by Grey and QAR in response.
To sum it up, nothing lost by removing Prof, but Grey and QAR are dancing around the same types of opinions without so much as a warning.

They're dancing around free because Tides is fine with what they're saying. That's all there is to it. If he wasn't, they'd be gone or at least have been warned

How was he meant to know that flag was a white supremacist thing after only being shown that twice? Everyone knows you need to show it at least 4 times for it to be dismissed
