Here is a little graphic I found while browsing The Economist. It really shows how the political divide has widened over the years. I looks like Conservatives have made a cohesive tiny step to the right, while Democrats as a whole have gone several steps left, while loosing all cohesion. Saying that it's hard to find a centrist conservative seems to be correct, but it also seems to be correct to say that finding an extremist liberal is easy. I guess what you means is that conservative kept hating gays and being racist like they did in the 1900s while progressives… progressed? I'm just gonna say Hurray for progressive not supporting child labor and segregation anymore! Going several step left is AWESOME! Yes... yes we can. This is literally a red line for many firearm owning Americans. It's just a matter whether the majority/government can molify/pacify the dissenters. If it's amended away, you'll just have to suck it up and give up your weapons. I mean, weren't you telling us about “dura lex sed lex” and how immigrants should patiently wait at the frontier? However, and I want you to read the fucking words I'm typing here, if the 2nd were every to be nullified, you will have a NOT INSIGNIFICANT number of armed population who will resist. We'll have to use tear gas on them then. And if they resist, the cops will be justified on shooting them I guess. |
