Can't say I've ever met a President. That's neat. At best I've seen one in person, George W. Bush, when he came to Fort Bragg for an event.

Carter and...ugh... Trump. Carter is an amazing person. Trump mistook me for one of his minions. Hilariously, Carter was the one I was warned not to shoot.

Honestly, I can't personally say much about George H. W. Bush. I'm "only" 41, so I wasn't really old enough to have paid attention to politics during his time in office. I'll say this, though: the few articles I've read about him today certainly paint a picture that shows how far the quality of leadership within the Republican Party has fallen. Just the incredible contrast between the letter Bush left behind for Clinton and how Trump couldn't wait to lie about the size of his inauguration crowd is stunning.

Bush senior seemed to have mellowed out in his old age. It amazes me that he and Bill Clinton proceeded to work together afterwards. And while I have issues with Bush Juniors presidency, I'm begining to think he was a decent man just surrounded by awful people.
I feel bad for W, losing your dad even after a long full life still sucks.

Strangely enough, even during the "worst" of the W years, I never thought W was a bad person. I pretty much always believed he was a decent person just surrounded by a lot of bad people who were far too eager to turn 9/11 and the subsequent War on Terror into an opportunity to push their agendas.

I have the same opinion. I liked Bush as a person and president, but I didn't like his administration much.

Hey, guys, just an FYI Vice Adm. Scott Stearney (Commander of the 5th Fleet) was found dead in Bahrain yesterday. ATM they're talking suicide, but it's pretty early in the investigation.

My father was with the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard - the only East Coast facility for the repair and maintenance of nuclear submarines.
Carter was there promoting peace with the Soviets, Bush was there looking at combat readiness against the Soviets, and each was doing Meet & Greet while they there.
Of the two, Dad was much more impressed by Carter - but then they were both submariners, both had worked with reactors, and they had things that they could both complain about. Dad liked having a president that was asking the right questions. (In Dad's opinion, the subs were the real sharp end of the sword in any nuclear exchange.)

Anyone can take too much and decide their skull needs a new skylight. What you do for a living has little bearing on whether or not the voices win.
I mean granted it's suspicious but not journalist in russia tossing themselves out a window suspicious.

Is it in poor form to come crawling back? I deleted for mental health reasons because I know I couldn’t help myself from responding, and I realized that I was just making myself angry and filled with stress whenever I did. Now that the trigger for my lack of self control is no longer here (I guess I should have waited 5 minutes), I wouldn’t mind trying to participate normally...

I don't think so, the reason you left after all is gone.

Well, I think I honestly didn't leave as much "because" of him. But more for my inability to not get myself worked up about him. It's definitely a lack of self control on my part, and a personality fault that lets me get worked up so much on a random forum.

You didn't rage quit like a child, so no, especially since the reason you quit quit within minutes of your quitting making the reason you quit moot so you shouldn't feel bad about quitting quitting

Quit it with the quitting; if you can't quit quitting I'm going to have to quit.
