How do! ETC had this thread, so must The Wasteland. Not for wargames, as we have Dakka for that. But for our other hobbies and crafts and arts and farts and that. Today I’ve spent some time rejigging my front room, so I can get my latest art purchases up on the wall. And I’m pretty happy with it. Yes I’m aware some of the mountings are wonky, but so is your face and you don’t see me harping on about it

And because I can only post three pics a time, the final one.

Very cool! I am in a constant state of war about wall decorations with my better half. Just seem to end up with lots of paintings of cats or other animals, I have been allowed very little! My idea of having a big canvas of the well-emergences scene from The Ring in the spare room was sadly rejected!

That reminds me that my wife and I have a dozen paintings that need to go up, but that we just never get around to.

And after months of patiently awaiting my fattest pay packet of the year? I finally have my Cricut Machine. And Mug press. And a heat press. And various other gubbins.
There is no stopping me now. I have the power. I have the technology. I have the will. No longer are my artistic expressions constrained by my lack of hand eye coordination.
No dear friends. Now I can make all sort of gubbins. Some will be great. Some will greater. None will be shit.
Next up will be an infusible ink printer……

I've been meaning to get a heavy knife blade to test it on plasticard.

Just ordered one of those yesterday, along with 2mm Chipboard for a project. If it works as well as I think, I’ll make SVG file for building nets. Whilst a Cricut is too expensive to use solely for making terrain? It’s a function in addition to my general craftiness so one I’m happy to explore.
Plus, there’s a chance I can flog the SVG files. £5 a Chuck.

Cricut (and associated products) is a whole hobby to learn to use properly. It is worse than getting a 3D printer to me.
I tried to use one to make some buildings for scenery, and gave up on the whole idea as the learning curve was steeper than I wanted to go with it.

I am sure you will do better than me.
I decided to drop it to focus on my 3D printer instead, and I still suck at that too! LOL.

So far…so good. For once, youtube research pays off!
Gonna make customised mugs for my team mates at work. Their choice of mug and wrap colour, with their names and Cuppa Preference. Yes I do hope to make others jealous. Because I’m petty like that 😂😂

Hmm. Also want to design a Cross Stitch, in the vein of that “live laugh love” Karen atrocity,
But it’s Kill Maim Burn.

I've become a big fan of "Live, Laugh, Toaster Bath", but it's maybe a tad too far. Does the mug and heat press mean you're branching out into inspirational mugs and clothing? For me hobby wise I've been repairing some old bikes for a local school. Sadly I had one back in that I fixed up for them last year that looked like it'd been crashed good. Like, melted mud guard, broken reflector, bent frame so the chain wouldn't stay on. It's now back on the road and the kids are tearing up the playground on it so there's plenty of job satisfaction out of it. Next up is an old trike I bought that just seems to need a bit of a clean up and then I'm hunting for a new project. I'm tempted to get a trailer but there's no way I could hide it from my wife

I am indeed!
Bought a shiny new inkjet, which arrived this afternoon. And I’ve already got it set up, pinched a piccie off the interwebs, and printed to a custom tote bag for a friend.
The transfer paper was super cheap. Well. 20 sheets for £17, it’s certainly cheap enough that I can freely dick around and make stuffs. Should I ever sell my wares, definitely cheap enough that labour is my main overhead.

Had an absolute fucking mare of a day at work. Nothing I can’t handle, but enough to melt my brain for the day. So I made some tote bags. Because I can. And frankly, materials aside, there’s nothing and no-one to stop me!
