A place for discussion about Australia not being able to keep a government for more than 5 minutes or China spending billions to build a new capital rather than spend billions to reduce air pollution.
If it isn't North America or Europe here is the place.

Yeah some. Nowhere near as much as they either could or arguably should. Saw this interesting piece in the FT; www.ft.com/video/02c86a6c-c72c-4fb9-a853-02781aa5c8e5That's 10x what they are spending to curb their pollution being poured into infrastructure projects across Africa, the UK's Telegraph is referring to it as colonialism but it just seems like very smart business sense as well as making a lot of friends for very little effort, why the hell aren't the EU nations and the US doing the same? A very fine showing of soft power.

I would imagine because whatever might be officially stamped on their job badges; most African governments are run by dictatorships, and poor ones who tend to default on their debts at that. Why would you want to invest in places like that? Too high risk for private Western commerce, which drives most investment.
The Chinese tend to be less bothered about who they deal with, willing to import large colonies of their own workers in a way Europe/America wouldn't dream of for obvious historical reasons, and are finally Government-led initiatives (as opposed to private).

Intestingly, he lost 40% of his blood, supposedly. and a punctured intestine. Ouch.
Still no Roosevelt, though. Get shot and give the fucking speech anyway.

So, we've got elections tomorrow in Sweden. Let's see if our right-wing party will go full von Papen and cooperate with the racists of the Sweden Democrats.
And before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, when a party manifesto states that they believe in "inherited cultural essences" that define how people will act, they're fucking racists.

Inherited cultural essences sounds like something you could buy at a New Age shop.
And it smells like narwhal shit.

Since Moldova is not yet a member of the EU this goes here: www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-45465598Seems like the presidents in certain other anti-Russian nations, Moldova's president has just been involved in a serious car accident. He escaped with light injuries, his mother is in more serious condition.

Also, Moldova reportedly "snatched" six Gulen supporters and shipped them to Turkey.
Odd timing.

I dunno, I'm still waiting for Russia to just happen to mysteriously annex the rest of their county, for ethnic protection of Russians, of course.
