Seriously, someone explain what the 'agnew' treatment is and why it's meant to be funny. Spirrow T. Agnew was Nixon's VP. After Nixon won by a landslide in 1972 Agnew was the presumptive nominee for the 1976 Presidential campaign. Nixon disagreed, and in 1973 many allegations of Agnew accepting bribes emerged. Nixon did nothing to help him, and may have been a major influence behind the accusations themselves. Agnew was forced to resign as a result. |
