Many awesome things combined to make a political point, here. Read the description to find out what the Hell it's all about. Or read this.

Do badgers have many (or any) natural predators there? If they don't and they're already having such big problems with disease in the population, they are probably over-populated to begin with. Judging by the number they are planning on shooting, it seems like the population must be thriving.

The main issue, as I understand it, is that they've made the decision to go ahead with the cull (incurring all the costs of staffing it etc along with those of policing protests and stuff) without any evidence that it will achieve the desired outcome, hence why some regions (Wales?) are choosing instead to invest in a vaccine trial.

I'm good on Badger protection. I invested in a 3-pack of natural born Badger defense: Weiner Dogs.

Same as with rabbits, foxes, squirrels, stupid pigeons, and hedgehogs. I've only seen a live badger once. The rest of the time, it's just a striped pelt in a pile of bloody mush.

I saw a live badger once (when I was delivering for Domino's); it was f-ing MASSIVE. My brother had recently wrecked the front of his super (ghey) lowered car when he hit one, and suddenly I understood how that worked.
In other news, I've been seeing a lot more squished ones about recently. I presume this is because they're being either fleeing the cull (leaving their usual territory to escape or just plain being startled) or they've been injured but not killed and are running away and then try to cross a road...

My area is infested with badgers. My recon platoon insignia I'm the army was a badger (badger ops, living in holes observing enemy positions) when they cough it sounds human and scares the shit out of you in a tactical situation as you think somebody has snuck up on you.
Massive fan of badgers.

I don't think I've ever seen a one in real life, living or dead. We have them in the US though and I know what they look like.

I remember one time we were in a four man OP and a disgruntled badger (is there any other kind?) stormed our position. We bailed straight through the front of our OP which was a bush. Needless to say the operation was compromised. Badgers are some scary awesome bastards.
