So, yes, I'm agreeing with you that the EC is undemocratic, which is exactly as it should be. Let's all condemn the evils of democracy. You could end up with Switzerland, with a much higher standard of living! So the US isn't prosperous? Some people in the US sure are prosperous. That doesn't really transpire into the global standards of living in the US though. Power to the banks and the rich. |

I'm pretty sure Whembly thinks paying $2OOO in health insurance is better than paying $1000 in taxes lol. No... if the math works like that I'd take it. But, I seriously doubt it would do that. The estimates for Medicare for all has been estimated between 3 to 4 trillion dollars a year. The complete federal budget for this year is 4.6 trillion. This is just for the medicare-for-all... it doesn't include all the other progressive agendas. The question is: How do you pay for this? What will be cut and by how much would tax need to be raised? |

For instance, you say you aren't rich, that's your perception. Have you looked at various stats about standard of living? Those sometime include perception but at least they do provide an actual methodology and real stats. |

Hell... we've got eager folks willing to break our immigration laws in the hopes to stay here. Does that happen in switzerland? ( I don't know... the geography would be a bitch though). Either something's lost in translation or you have a fundamental misunderstand how our elections work. Gerrymandering works at a district level within each state and designed to favor certain voting groups. Both political parties are guilty of this, but in the past favors the GOP a wee bit more, simply because of democrat voters are already concentrated in cities. However, it has no impact to EC. EC is a state-wide popular vote, which determines a winners-take-all of the EC votes (excepting the two states who splits it). Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Is that how it supposed to work? But, hey, journalist couldn't find ANYONE to confirm Christine Blasey Ford's claim against Kavanaugh either! Yet you still say he's a rapist? How do you square this one? You are making my point here, ya know?  That is one thing I wished Kavanaugh would do...that is to pursue defamation. But, he's a public figure so the bar is extremely high (as opposed to you taking me to court). But, again, there's zero evidence except for a "He said, she said". And even then, Ford couldn't even get her best friend to substantiate Ford's version. Maybe you should understand that this was probably made up, with the idea that it'd be difficult to disprove with the hopes that Trump would rescind the nomination. In other words, Democrats exercise raw, hardball politics. That's what you said. And power to the government. Sure. Convince enough other people. Respect the process.
