So GBT either has the most problematic ego or he is most certainly not a centrist. At first I was just assuming he was too high to read the threads correctly based on his earlier statements about being too high to participate in threads correctly. But considering how he thanked his backers, the “let ‘em die” liberal and the “bad day waiting to happen”, perhaps there is something more serious going on. |

I received a warning from GBT for calling Grey a transphobic fascist. My days might be numbered, I better start practising my "there are four lights" routine. Please send a copy to Hordini and Dread and ask them for their take. Link to his transphobic posts, especially the ones where he doubled down on not wanting to respect trans people by using their terms, as well as to his US thread stuff. Let’s see what they have to say about using an accurate, though provocative, descriptor. |

I mean, I can understand RiTides closing that down. He has metaphorically (and maybe even literally) been handed a member of a mod team who will go off unilaterally handing out N-word passes to the users on his site and then start threatening the users who highlight how bad of an idea it is. He's trying to do damage control. Not particularly well if GBT continues posting in other threads. But if they just sit down and shut up until the other members of the mod team can sort some stuff out and engage with the community then it might blow over.
I doubt it. GBT is much too proud. We'll see.

Luckily the suspect did not have a gun (reports say he brandished a knife at the other officers) or it might have ended with more casualties. |

RiTides closed down the thread, unbelievable. That’s partially on me. I sent him a message about the thread asking him to get the other mods involved instead of letting GBT dig himself even deeper. I felt the inaction from every mod but the one angrily moderating his own thread would harm the credibility of his site, maybe permanently. |
