The Wasteland is NOT part of Dakka Dakka. It never was, and isn't now.
This place is run by the mob, the masses, the evil fucks who post pictures of a chick being literally skullfucked by a dude with a big dick (I looked back and couldn't find it, but it was posted to my Welcome thread oh-so many years ago).
This isn't Thunderdome. People get run off if they're not liked, but we're not here to hate on each other. I'm Facebook friends with most of the people I befriended here (minus the ones that disappeared).

Dawn breaks over the swamps of Florida, the bright light awakes the bear. Stretching and growling Lorek rouses from his sleep, today is a good day, today he gets to purge some more of the hated foe. Watch as he staggers out of his room and into the study, a brief detour to fortify himself with a potent brandy and he swings into action. Monitor 1 flickers to life, Dakka. Monitor 2 casts it glow across his face lined with determination, the Wasteland. He begins to read, scrolling furiously he looks for the dissenting, those who do not conform. There! A socialist in the Wastes, he checks the name, he tries it on dakka - no match. He dons his fedora of power and with a brief chant to holy Lego he checks the IP address, the numbers come up... A match! He has found his target on dakka at last. He swivels on his stool and reaches for the phone, time for reinforcements "Mal, I found one. Grab the guns and the ban hammer." Only a hundred more threads to look at before the US starts posting, he must get the "Work" done before then, he must keep the world secure from the Socialist/fascist/oddball/nerd. As he begins to scroll once more, his eyes glued to the screens and his hand poised on the purge button, he has just one thought; "Thank god that I don't have a life or a job that would keep me from this holy task." Fin. |

Malfred is a Mod too. And Yakface was once a founding and prolific member of this specific iteration of OT. We all used to hang out in the warhammer CCG section of the forum until Nicole Wakelin checked on the increased traffic to that section of Dakka, and we beat feet to the Wastes.
Im not a mod at Dakka, but have been a member since '97. I see no need for worry about repercussions there for what is said here.

I've been insulted on Dakka Dakka as a mod, and I never banned anyone for that. Worst I've done is a few days suspension, and that's only for a combination of violations (not just the insults).
Anything said here is fair game. I feel that the instant I become heavy-handed and petty in my use of power on Dakka, I lose any respect I may have had. Yes, I know there are a few posters who don't respect me at all anyway.

Contrary to what everyone thinks, none of the Dakka mods are that petty.
I can't really imagine Yak shootin' the shit in here, though. Doesn't strike me as his cup of tea.

Judging by what I've seen of Dakkamods- there are some decisions they've made that I find disagreeable, but I don't think they'd be petty enough to do a witch-hunt here. In fact, I can't really imagine what it's like on that page as a Moderator. Just for perspective, they've probably got people just hounding the shit out of them for every minor slip-up.

Let's just say that there are mods that I've dealt with on Dakka and Whineseer that were that petty, but I'll leave out names as it's poor taste to speak ill of the dead.
As the former boss of DarkReign, the 40k rpg forum, it was maddening to keep a steady hand on the mods, and on the posters.
