Thanks MDG - I was aware of the defamation case, but it looks like there are still (coordinated) efforts underway to discredit him - obviously the damages awarded were nothing like enough to actually dissuade them from continuing.

I would amend that to fuck Trophy hunters. If you’re actually eating and making use of what you kill, I don’t have a problem with that.

True that. Indeed as hunters for meat tend to make good use of the carcass, I don’t really see a problem.
As I’ve said in discussion on dietary preferences, if you turn your nose up at non-prime cuts of meat, you’re a bit of a knob. And indeed missing out on many genuinely delicious recipes which rely on offal or cheaper cuts. Ox Tail Stew for instance. Not as cheap a cut as it once was thanks to Fucking Hipsters, but man, when put in a slow cooker stew, you’ll never have anything quite as deliciously unctuous.

Food hunters tend to be a lot more respectful of the environment, ecosystem and population too. You don't get much food by destroying the countryside with your giant hunts.

If your hobby is killing sentient individuals for fun and pleasure, endangering non-violent people that happens to be nearby, fuck you. If it's your only way to survive because you literally have no other way to get food then of course it's okay.

Food hunters in the UK are still mostly rich folk or their gamekeepers, who generally hunt carefully managed reserves that are optimised for the hunt. Grouse moors, pheasant etc. Not many ordinary country folk still hunt critters that wander onto their land in any substantial way.
These hunting reserves are not good for the environment, because the reserves are managed to increase yield of the birds. The majority of raptor deaths in the UK suspiciously happen over grouse moors, for example. Everyone knows the moor management is knocking them off, but it is really hard to get convictions.
The chief exceptions, in my mind, are deer, feral ponies, and boar- these have no other natural predators in the modern UK, and without culling they ravage the natural ecosystem and go through huge population boom-bust cycles that result in lots of starving critters. I firmly believe these should be managed by professional gamekeepers with the meat (and other products) sold to avoid waste, rather than being a bloodsport for rich people. The other option is to reintroduce wolves, but that is a bit complicated and probably only feasible in the Scottish Highlands.

Musk is looking for Guinea pigs to have his brain chip shoved in their melons.
Fuck. That.

A.) Shoot the deer. People here constantly complain about too many deer, but keep killing any mountain lions that dare move back into the state.
2.) Doesnt Musk’s brain chip keep killing monkeys or did they resolve that minor side effect?

It's off topic, but hunting pests that were introduced generations ago and are just butchering their way through fragile native wildlife (f.e. fucking feral cats) is fine. We can't undo the introduction, but we can try and limit their impact on the native fauna

I will say the thing Twitter does that I wish the other social medias did was keep your spot in your feed. You open Twitter and it loads the new stuff above where you are, so you still see everything chronological. I like that better than tumblr or Bluesky always starting you off at the newest thing and you need to scroll down in reverse chrono. Still better than Facebook’s just kind of randomly scattering stuff on your feed though.
