I assume the moment Trump gets the Republican nomination, most of these legal challenges are just going to start sliding away as people will be unwilling to place themselves in the sights of an incoming future President?
And at that point the rest of the world have to hope that the saturated fat content (and artery-clogging powers) of a Big Mac succeed where the US justice system has failed?

I think the legal challenges will be ongoing even if he gets the nomination as he's looking likely to get the nomination anyways.

Wannabe dictators only need to get the chance once to secure their place...
Scary stuff.

Utterly horrendous. Meanwhile the Democrats can only wheel out Biden again with no (relatively) young rising star to galvanize the young vote. I'd like to think that the USA can't that stupid for a second time, but it's not looking good, is it.

I assume Newsom is the rising star for the next run, but who knows, they seem to want to avoid rocking the boat. Biden has been relatively progressive after all.

I'd like to think that the USA can't that stupid for a second time, but it's not looking good, is it. Galvanize the youth vote..... No one has been able to do that in my lifetime. As for rising stars there is Newsome (Being from CA is a potential problem), Gretchin Whitmer (MI, but a woman which is a problem in the US elector still), Buttgeig (Transportation Secretary. Who is gay, which may be a potential problem), Kamala Harris (VP. A woman and a minority one at that), Amy Klobuchar (Senator from MN, a woman, and not that much younger), Josh Shapiro (Gov of PA, but I do not know too much about him), Elizabeth Warren (Senator, and also a woman) Prizker (Gov Ill, who I do not know much about), and maybe Wes Moore (Gov of Maryland, who I know very little about). Which of those exactly is going to be ready to take-over for Biden and beat Trump? Which of those exactly is going to "Galvanize" the youth vote when most of them failed to do so in their own states or in the last primaries? The sad truth is, that Biden has a track record of beating Trump and "Galvanizing the Youth" by getting new voters, first time votes, and the people under 30 categories. The others do not. In addition, the other sad truth is that the Youth vote isn't worth much, because they do not reliably show up to vote. They take a lot of work, money, and effort and then don't go to the polls. It would be time, money, and effort better spent on Black voters, suburban woman, Hispanics, and other more reliable voting blocs than the youth vote. The real question Democrats should be asking is who is "Galvanizing the LatinX vote?"

The youth vote has been more galvanized with the attack on Roe, etc. The problem is that the results can't really be quantified by polls as the youth voters don't answer phone calls from people they don't know, so they can't really be reflected accurately in polling that is done.

Remember, this is just political persecution of a political opponent like is done by the Republican overlord in the Kremlin...

That's probably the most sensible thing, from a legal advice perspective, he has done in his entire life.

He does have an absolutely hilarious habit of incriminating himself.

I'm just surprised they managed to convince him not to do it.
