What makes you assume that my existence is sheltered? Is it because I use reasonably correct grammar and words longer than 4 letters (though I use alot 4 letter words too)? Because you think by typing bumper stickers and and masturbating your ego you are somehow an intellectual powerhouse. Again, the fact that you know next to nothing about me leaves any consideration of my 'real' behavior wanting. Maybe I'm intimidating enough that I can preclude people from starting a physical confrontation with me. Maybe I'm smart enough to stack the situation in my favor before being a dick. Maybe I do get knocked around alot, but simply choose not to care. Maybe some combination of all three. And maybe none of them at all. It really doesn't matter because distance precludes you from ever finding out. Talking about what would happen 'irl' is just conceding an inability to procede in conversation. That said, calling someone a 'moron' has a similar (though in my mind lesser) contextual affect, which I admittedly regret. No, you just have not gotten your ass kicked because you act nothing like this in person. Of course since your internet persona consist of laying big steaming piles of shit, rolling around in it, screaming in a shrill voice about how intellectually stimulating rolling in shit is, and end up praising yourself for rolling around in that fecund stew. You are rather similar to Stelek. hey, you bunch of fucking morons, irl i could beat the shit out of all of you! rar, im so tough! roflroflrofl. Darkchild All this time I thought you hated us all enough to put a bullet through our heads from 4000 yards.

I don't believe that one bit. You know damned well he is the son few the former chief fou fou inspector under the former despotic regime and promised to deposit 25 million dollars into her account if she sent him 4,000 dollars and the account number for the state treasury.

My mother used to own a business. Long story short, she got sick, my brother and I had to close it for her.
The last day we were open we got a letter from Nigeria. It brought some levity to the day.

No... I didn't read the rest of the pages....
Palin is a fucktard. She is a cycnical symbol of how low a formerly honorable man will go to win. She is only slightly more cynical then Biden as a choice.
As to the supremem court..... Both sides of the political spectrum see the court as a means of bypassing congress.
The liberals, religious conservatives and neocons all want the court to be an activist one.
It souldn't be surprising we are slowly seeing our liberties disolving.... Cheney has been an advocate for a more powerful executiv ebranch since Ford. He argued agaunst teh creation of the Freedom of Information act.
If you want smaller government and less taxes vote Ron Paul. If you want a government that wants to be active and enact govt sponsored health insurance and tax the rich vote Dem. If you are rich or a social conservative vote republican.

Something I was considering the other day:
Both the Republicans and Democrats are working towards the maintenance of the United States. The Democrats believe that this should be accomplished through a narrowing of the wealth gap. Basically they assume that cultural issues lose gravity when physical hardships removed from the equation. The Republicans (read: neocons, I have no illusions of a fundamentalist intellect) are the opposite. For them physical hardship (of the plebes) is irrelevant so long as they can maintain a contiguous cultural identity. Essentially a strong corporate America will maintain the nation while the masses are fed their opiates; trickle-down without the trickling.
Obviously we've been living under the neocon umbrella since Clinton took office. His deregulation of banking is a major hallmark of that policy. And, on the whole, it was a succesful system; the economy prospered. Then along comes 9/11. Here the neocons see an oportunity to extend their control into the ME at what they believe will be a minimal cost. They were obviously mistaken. The government starts generating debt like mad. Corporations, in an attempt to stay in the black, begin cost cutting. This increases outsourcing and so kills the job market. Joblessness, combined with rising interest rates, essentially serve to evict many of the less fortunate. Housing prices drop and the average American finds that the value of his home no longer offsets the cost of his mortgage. This prevents most people from refinancing when the Fed eventually tries to stop the bleeding by dropping the interest rate. The net result? Deregulation and a large wealth gap (allowing a few people to decide the fate of the nation) killed the economy.
How do we fix the problem? In the short term we have to cut expenditures and generate additional income. This means tieing up Iraq and Afghanistan while rasing taxes. In the long term the wealth gap needs to be narrowed in order to prevent the decisions of a few individuals from incurring this kind of reprisal.
That's why I support Obama, am wary of McCain, and detest Ron Paul.

That's why I support Obama, am wary of McCain, and detest Ron Paul. Perhaps a little too simplistic, but about right, from my point of view. You forget that heaped on top of deregulation was an executive and legislative branch happy not to follow through on oversight options they did have, including and especially after Sarbanes-Oxley (sp?). Also add to the issue the influx of unsupervised foreign investment and a weak dollar policy, and a federal reserve chairman wholly unprepared for the hens coming home to roost. Hell, you can trace some of the problems back to the end of the committee system of budget writing in the Senate back in the 1970s, giving rise to earmarks, which became a bigger problem as budget season extended all year long with multiple emergency spending bills. The sad thing is, while Cheney, Bush et. al. aggregated power to the executive, they continuously put ill prepared and qualified lackeys into positions of significant responsibility (Fed, Treasury, EPA, Attorney General), thus simultaneously negating the power of the executive, with the exception of POTUS. Whoever is president and if it's not Obama I don't know what I'm going to do with my life Oh please God no is going to pretty much have to rebuild the newly 'empowered' (and bureaucratically bloated) executive from scratch. You know it's trouble when the DC Mayor's office looks downright efficient by comparison.

The outsourcing started in the mid 90's (my job was, anyway), but the rest is spot on. Takedown is still a cocktrumpet though. I worry that most neocons (not fundie conservatives or log cabineers like Larry Craig) have already disengaged from their host and are actively seeking fresh blood, so to speak. But hey, there's always Canada!

Outsourcing, Mcmansions, 3 hour commutes, exburbs etc. all predicated on the cheap cost of fuel, of course.
Oops.

I guess my question is, lots of people are still blaming Bush and his presidency, but what has the Democrat Congress been doing this whole time to change things? Maybe I'm not looking in the right places, but I haven't seen a lot of positive things coming from their direction so far.
