Apparently Article II of the Constitution lets Trump do whatever he wants as President. Can we get a comment on that from resident constitutionalist whembly? No idea what you're talking about. Trump said Article II lets him do whatever he wants. |

Well, Mueller interview today. 2 hearings, not really big surprises. Both sides declare victory! Republicans continue to ignore election issues unless they somehow help Dems, and Putin continues to laugh.

He lost, partly thanks to his previous comment to a woman MP talking about receiving rape threats of "I wouldn't even rape you". He later said he would rape her but that "nobody's got that much beer". So, yeah. Guy's a prick and also a moron who cannot read. HBomberGuy and Shaun have done several videos on the chucklefuck which are pretty funny for how easily his "arguments" based in "facts" and "logic" are easily torn apart, sometimes by the very same sources he is using to try and support them, when he bothers to try and use sources at all. He also gave rise to the unit of measurement for the length of Youtube videos, the Sargon, after he commented on someones response to one of his bullshit videos saying he didn't have the time to watch and couldn't they fit it into five minutes. |

Trump asked Swedish PM Stefan Löfven to intervene in the case of American rapper A$AP Rocky who's jailed awaiting trial for battery in Sweden after beating up a guy who harassed him
(as in literally kicking him when he was down and going after him with a bottle (it's caught on tape as well), well beyond any legitimate claim of self-defence). Since "wealthy foreign celebrity" is one of the most obvious flight risks imaginable he's being detained pending trial.
Trump called Löfven a couple of days back at the behest of Kanye West (and I can't believe I just wrote that...) to try to get A$AP Rocky out of jail, offering to pay his bail personally. There's just one small problem: we don't have a system where wealthy people can pay their way out of jail.
Further, for Löfven to intervene would be impossible for (at least) three reasons:
1: It'd be unconstitutional. Swedish government institutions (which the PM most certainly is) are explicitly not allowed to interfere in idividual trials (Instrument of Governance 1974:152, chapter 11, 3§).
2: It'd be UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Swedish ministers are explicitly forbidden from interfering in individual cases of agencies where that agency is exercising institutional authority or applying law (Instrument of Governance 1974:152, chapter 12, 2-3§§).
3: IT'D BE UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Even excepting the two above problems, the Prime Minister simply does not have such authority.
Trump's asking our PM to break our constitution in at least three different ways and doesn't understand that Sweden doesn't have a bail system.
