false dichotomy/ "Both sides" fallacy We got here because you're supporting white nationalists. Because you support those who embolden and enable them. Because you're trying to conflate both sides as equally violent (they're not). Because you don't live in the reality rational people do, you live in whatever reality trump and fox spin up for you. Right-wing terrorism accounts for roughly 3/4 of terrorism in the US, and here you are busy yelling "bOtH sIdEs ArE tHe SaMe!" so you don't have to actually address how you're the problem because of who you support. Also,

Of course, Republicans and conservative blame Rock Music Heavy Metal Music Dungeons and Dragons Rap Music Violent Video Games. Anything to not address the actual issues of mental healthcare, availability and normalization of fire arms, demonization of political opponents and radicalization of view points.

Not this Republican/Conservative. Violent video games is a red herring. The issue is most certainly multi-facet, such as mental health and lack of family/social support structures.

Don't forget the xenophobic rhetoric you support.
And yes, you support it if you support those spouting it.

//said some accurate things// God bless. Yeah, why have to accept that the xenophobic remarks that almost every shooter lately has said almost word for word are driving them to go shoot people. Clearly, these attacks that are planned for months are caused by mental health issues, not the radicalization and horrible rhetoric of the republican party. I bet you believe they're all lone wolves too.

There's a fundamental racism to all this nonsense as well. To quote one of my friends, "yeap its why black guys are thugs and white guys are mentally ill, why guys from the mid-east are terrorists and white guys are quiet loaners." There's just such a blatant disconnect from reality anymore and it's terrifying.

I've seen this reported before, so far it seems unrelated to the why however.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. With as Balkanized as our politics have become and the easy access to weapons of mass death, it was only a matter of time before someone on the left became radicalized and committed a act of terror. The problem with this comes from the fact it will be used as a means of justification for cracking down on ANTIFA, because being anti-fascist is bad for some reason, and held up as a symbol of "Both sides bad!" and not a product of abject awful desperation.
If the article is accurate the guys was a fucking asshole and I'm glad he's dead and a shame he couldn't just quietly blow his own fucking brains out. But the response because of his views is going to be so skewed it's not gonna be funny. Both these men were radicalized by a volatile and hateful political climate and cesspits on the internet that fed their insecurities and hatred. None of this will be addressed of course. While their are far more right-wing domestic terrorists, this will get shouted from the rooftops and held up as a symbol of 'Both sides bad!' and the stupid will eat it up.
Hell, me and fucking Carlos are a great example of this sadly, just that MAYBE we both have our heads screwed on a little tighter, but there would be no love lost between us if one of us died. And, it's actually a bit sad to me. Because in the end we're both just primates scrabbling in the dirt giving the meaningless meaning. We're probably both just a handful of bad steps away from being these awful people.

It'll be interesting to see why he did it, but it so far looks like a kill list for people he didn't like instead of being politically motivated.

How 'bout you guys actually read what I fucking wrote? I read what you said, it is nonsensical in its assumptions. First up the claim that Trump is condemning white nationalism etc. You know as well as everyone else that the dead-eyed condemnation counts for little if he doesn't also tweet about it, he cared so little he didn't even realize his speech said Toledo instead of Dayton and just completely forgot about El Paso. His condemnation is meaningless because he was forced to give one. The bated breath comment is where nonsensical comes in. The 'left' has relatively little to hold their breath for, seeing as the vas majority is right wing violence or jihadist violence. The 'right' needs to because its frequently from their corner and they can't wait to score browny points condemning the lefties. One side wants to try and solve the problems while the other rolls around in thoughts and prayers and prays that it will disappear from mainstream attention soon enough. The politics before humanity is the same old drivel as always, 'don't politicize it'. People are being murdered in the streets by an abhorrent extremist right wing ideology. It was politicized from the moment those bodies hit the floor. But going against white supremacist violence doesn't easily score points does it? How different it is when republicans talk about 'radical islam'. And yes, don't let a crisis go to waste, its the best moment to affect change. When it's still in peoples minds and they can still care about it. Imagine if Bush had introduced the Patriot Act in 2008, you know, so as not to politicize a tragedy? The expectation is, again, completely nonsensical and only trotted out during mass shootings. Hence the responses with the facts that matter, versus the feelings that don't.

In other news, those trade wars which are so easy to win seem to be dragging on forever. Trump has dug the US into a hole with China and the admin doesn't have the experience to fix it, meanwhile its weighing the economy down.
Plus the fact that Trump seems to completely ignore the latest South Korea-Japan spat even though they're key US allies and this damages the economy and hurts American's wallets too.
