So far today the Trump admin has flipped off endangered animals and added "P.S. no poor people" to the Statue of Liberty. Oh and still losing to China in that pesky trade war, but we don't talk about that. They joked about farmers being whiners for complaining the trade war was driving them bankrupt. |

I don't think that Trump or his admin have ever hidden the fact that their base is a joke to them, they're just either too stupid or high on the kool aid to care.

They've deluded themselves that the alternative is worse, and despite mountains of evidence, they are riding that sunk cost fallacy to ruin. Example: see good ol' Whembles in here. Still going to bat for the team, refuting what he can with technicalities and whataboutisms and pretending not to notice what he can't.

So, it's starting to look more and more like massive incompetence rather than a conspiracy to silence Epstein. Guards apparently did not check on him for 3 hours (which means they skipped 6 checks they were supposed to do), fell asleep on the job, and then falsified records. There's also some other, somewhat minor things detailed in the article linked too (i.e., not having another inmate in the same cell/housing unit/whatever.) |

The two guards on duty were on overtime. One of the guards wasn’t actually a guard but someone else filling in because of lack of guards, and thus all the overtime.

"2 stabbed, both survive" is a lot less compelling headline than "20 shot, 18 killed"
50 stabbed was fairly compelling I thought. Admittedly it took him about ten min on a crowed railroad platform, but...

And once again, if cellphones are the problem, why don't we see the same levels of violence elsewhere? |
