Barr keeps on being shocked that the stuff people have been telling the news about for years (staffing, overtime, augmentation) has actually been happening under his watch without him knowing about it... Wait, augmentation? Like cybernetic augmentation?

Way to misconstrue my point guys. Why do we do things that we do? The reasons we have gang violence (or other organized crimes for that matter), in part, is money. Most of that is illicitly gained. If you're arguing otherwise, then what exactly do you think contributes to the violence? My original point, was to focus on the reasons why people gang bang, join cartels or the mafia. There are plethora of reasons. Your original statement: “A better question: why do we have such problems with gang/organized crime compared to the rest of the world?” Emphasis mine. Explain now the emphasized part, if you can. Well its not just having access to firearms, if that's the point you're coming from. People break laws. People joins cartels/gangs/mafia for multitude of reasons. Part of that is due to money... in that, opportunities to make illicit money. Hypothetically, look at it this way: dry up the cartels/gangs/mafia money streams. Their influence and numbers would drop. Compared do the rest of the world? Only think I can think of is most of our cities/regions are wealthier. Yes, some wealthy cities outside of the US don't see the same numbers, so good for them. They've figured something out.

You guys are really twisting yourselves in knots trying to explain this any other way, cellphones? Our cities are wealthier? WTF? Seriously, I wish people would just acknowledge the obvious facts and then tell us how they are sorry other people are dying but nothing is as important as their right to own as many guns as they want. At least then we won't have to have this bullshit debate about how it isn't the thing everyone knows it is because MURICA

Certain people in this thread sound remarkably like the cigarette companies during the early and mid-nineties.
Are guns the ONLY reason why Americans get lung cancer kill each other with such enthusiasm? No. Are cigarettes guns a MAJOR part of it? Yes.
Stop pretending otherwise. You just look petty and silly.
As always, all I hear is; "Dead children is an acceptable price for other people to pay, so that I can keep my guns".

Well its not just having access to firearms, if that's the point you're coming from. Okay, but then, what else? Hypothetically, look at it this way: dry up the cartels/gangs/mafia money streams. Their influence and numbers would drop. Hypothetically, look at it this way: if you make a medicine that cure all cancers, less people would die of cancer! Compared do the rest of the world? Only think I can think of is most of our cities/regions are wealthier. That's only because you don't know the rest of the world. Again, and again, and again, plenty of European cities are wealthier AND surer than in the US. You cannot say “There is a lot of gangs and cartels in the US because the US has more money” when countries with very poor city like Mexico have a huge gang/cartel problem and countries with very rich cities like Switzerland have 0 gangs/cartels problem. Your conclusion goes directly against most of the data, and that means your conclusion is just wrong!!

Hypothetically, look at it this way: dry up the cartels/gangs/mafia money streams. Their influence and numbers would drop. Limit the number of guns in circulation, and their influence and numbers will drop. You seem to suffer from a text book case of delusional American exceptionalism. You do know that the rest of the world outside the US isn't just brown people in mud huts, right? You do know that quite a few countries are objectively and demonstrably better/greater than the US, right?

American Exceptionalism is required to think that everyone is worse than us. No matter what any other country might do better, they are still worse off than the US.

For a man that shouts antisemitism every time a Democrat doesn't unquestioningly support Israel, you would think he wouldn't call Jews traitors or dumb for voting Democrat.
Oh wait, I forgot, his daughter married Jewish so he can't be *spins the wheel of bigotry*... antisemitic. Its all good

Remember, they're a necessary evil, Clinton would have done something worse, and/or they shouldn't have crossed the border if they didn't want to be thrown in a concentration camp.
I think that covers a lot of the right wing defense of them.

Also, appointing conservative judges, because courts need to be partisan.
