Well, in fantastic news, Rush Limbaugh is dead. About damn time. But Trump's "mean tweets" or something. Attitudes like this reaffirms my convictions to do whatever I can to keep leftist out of power. Uh huh. Sure. Rush was an awful human being. He spread lies, sorry "alternative facts," that you've gobbled up like the shit-sucking pond scum reject you are. No offense to actual pond scum, it's not intentionally harming or hurting anyone, and probably done more good than harm overall. The man was a piece of garbage and its no surprise people are happy he is death. Limbaugh certainly didn't ride a high horse when it came to ridiculing and minimizing the deaths of others.
The fact that you can support Limbaugh lovers like Trump but condemn and fear all leftists based on the comment of Wolfblade really does you no favors.

It seems to be following the same trajectory as this board’s early days, but perhaps a smidge slower. I'm impressed it managed to get even worse than the last days of DakkaDakka politics, in about two weeks no less. At least Dakka rule 1 is doing its work, be polite, but insinuate as much as you like about the other poster. On here, we can just drop the pretence and say it. The aggressive circle jerk must be better for our blood pressure than the passive aggressive one right? At least more therapeutic? |

I'd also say that with Trump gone and government returning to a degree of normalcy, we're no longer in the cycle of constant minor scandal of the week that existed under Trump. In comparison to any given day of the Trump administration, the first month of the Biden presidency has been positively dull. About the only thing to really talk about was Trump because of the impeachment and the Republicans because the charade of feigned offense has been so laughable. Neither of those topics warranted much commentary. I don't even think most Republicans bought any of the excuses and preferred to quietly sulk rather than argue over it.
Discussion here has slowed ever since the election.

I.E. you only care about the attitudes of one side to affirm your own beliefs, not reconsider them.

Ah... I see. Here's the difference though. Rush never held public office. He's a commentator. Wolfblade's attitude is emblematic to the left's mentality against their ideologic opponents. As such, I oppose any politician who gleefully gloat over the deaths of their opponents. The sadness and grief of Rush’s loved ones today is indistinguishable from the sadness and grief of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s loved ones in September or John Lewis’s loved ones or Herman Cain’s loved ones in July. No matter how much we may think that we are different from those we vehemently oppose, they are as human and mortal as we are, and we are all going to end up in the same grave... ashes to ashes, dust to dust. I say this as someone who doesn't listen to Rush, as his shows are during working hours. EDIT: I can denounce stupid shit that my own side does. Like, I don't want to have anything to do with M. Greene's insanity. But, that doesn't make me wanna vote for democrats. |

Rush never held political office, yet plenty of Republican politicians were happy to come on his show, including Trump. So all the "emblematic" beating around the bush really does very little to help your argument. Rush was the largest political voice on the right for years, if not decades (audience wise).
For all your emotional appeals, you're still ignoring that all people are doing over his death now is exactly what he did for decades and far worse. And his audience of millions loved him for it... There is no moral high ground to be gained, death does not absolve him or the people that stood by him as he was spouting this.
