EDIT: Inspired by the 4 day metalfest extravaganza I was blessed to participate in, I am expanding the scope of this thread. Share all your excellent music from the various branches of the tree of heavy metal!

Brit metallers Haken just released their 5th full length in the classic prog style and it's a feckin' beauty.
They are on tour with Norway's Leprous, who play a sort of Tool-esque take on prog metal.
Genuine Canadian superhero Devin Townsend has been killing it with every varied musical project he undertakes, and his prog act DTP is no exception.

Yes! Moar prog! These guys are decent af. Very much in the Dream Theatre school of prog metal. Wow, never heard of this guy. I love it! So good. These guys are so feckin' prog they don't even take time to bother singing. |

Gojira are total hippies lol. First time I heard about them was on Swiss radio Couleur 3 and they were talking about whales who use their brain not to fight and all that like humans, but to move in the oceans to be more in harmony with the world  . I can share the interview but it's all in French. |

And it makes for cool music videos too. All in all a great, very positive band \o/. Did you know that the cover for From Mars to Sirius was drawn by one of the Duplantier brother? It was on the interview, I forgot which one though ^^. [edit]Realized that hippie is only half-fitting, they got the peace and love, harmony with nature vibe a lot but they trade the quite laid back attitude of hippies with a pretty self-demanding attitude.
