This has to be the result of fear mongering and racism.

Apparently now the man has been charged with 1st degree assault and using a weapon in a crime, but the police can't find him and he's believed to have fled the state.

Not charging a man who shot a kid in the face, because they wanted to speak to the kid first to figure out what the offensive is, is absolutely mental.
Is "attempted murder" a thing in the US? It's obviously assault in any case. That police inaction has almost certainly given him enough time to evade justice.

Apparently he was also a priest who wrote a pile of books about anger in the 1980s. That doesn't surprise me either, tbh.

What's with all the gun reactions to, well, nothing?

Recently we've had a kid shot for ringing the wrong door bell, some women shot for pulling into the wrong drive way, 2 girls shot for getting in the wrong car.

And now... drum roll.. 3 people shot because a basketball rolled into some dudes garden.

A 6-year-old girl and her parents were injured by gunfire on Tuesday night after a basketball rolled down a residential street in North Carolina and into a man’s yard, enraging him, neighbors told WSOC-TV.

Witnesses told the station that the gunman ran up and down the street, firing until he ran out of bullets.

Oh yeah, escalating minor petty shit into gun violence and murder is pretty common and not quite the same as shooting the person who came to the wrong house without warning that’s been the news fad lately.

I'm surprised that no-one seems to care about the whole murder over petty shit thing. But I guess plenty of the vocal 2A'ers will argue that the best solution to that is to carry a gun and shoot first, thus causing the problem in the first place.
