So Tesla has issued a recall on all 3800 Cybertrucks sold so far, because the accelerator pedal cover can slide off and lock the pedal at full throttle. The (hopefully) temporary solution is to screw the cover onto the pedal. In addition to all the other random failures, I'm surprised it was allowed to be released or has it managed to dodge any kind of DOT certification? I don't know what is more depressing: that the rubbish build quality and huge design flaws passed code, or that 3800 people have bought this heap of rust. Is anyone actually driving them? You have to carefully clean the car if it gets a squished bug to prevent rusting...

I love that you have to put them in a specific car wash mode or it’ll brick the truck when you wash it.

There’s someone driving one around near our house who could be driving one of the two crapped-out trucks in Orange County mentioned in the article. As much as I love laughing at these stupid things, sharing the road with them is worrisome.

Including the teams responsible for new car development (so the roadster pre-orders are screwed) and the supercharger network.
Not a few people, the entire teams and capability. He's got rid of the 2 main income providers of the future in order to save money now.
