Does Gen X vs Millennial matter that much? No. Generations don't matter. Well maybe they do but definitely NOT across much wider other socio-economic factors, gender, culture, political orientation, ...

Honestly, Generations are just another (obscuring and less useful) form of the Class War.
In the US, we like to hide our class war behind Racism, sexism, and generational warfare. If we embrace Class War that sounds dangerously Socialist!

I get what Fontes is trying to say when he says it isn't a partisan issue, but I assume at the side of the people causing this, it's very much a partisan issue.

someone's got to be in second place in case Trump (aka Donald Duck) decides not to run/goes to prison/dies.

I especially find the Media's attempt to make the process into a Horse-race hilarious. In the article they mention how Haley is "surging" in New Hampshire. She is still behind Trump by like 30 points! Yet, we are supposed to take it seriously that she is a contender.
Laughable and desperate for a horse-race. I look forward to how they horse-race Trump vs. Biden.

Well Trump does need a new VP, because I doubt he will given Pence another go. You can basically write off the ones that are too loudly criticizing Trump.

I think Trump should run without a VP to prove his bona fides as a "Non-establishment Outsider".
Edit:
David Frum is being savage on the platform formerly known as Twitter:
and then this one....

I think Frum should reflect on what happens when Republicans discover they can't win through democracy, given that he's been spot on on it in the past.

I like Frum.. an actually principled Republican, and someone that has stuck by those principles while the rest of the party gets flushed around the u-bend. He was interviewed by Sam Harris a while ago and came across as a very intelligent and knowledgeable man.

I mean, as much as Frum is right on this, he is still a Neocon, so not exactly a shining example either.

He may oppose the steps that the Republican party has taken since the end of the Bush presidency, but each of those steps has its root cause in the accepted reality of the republican party established by Reagan, that Frum helped advance during his time in politics.

We need people like Frum now to help overturn Trumpism.

Do you need people like Frum though? That's like taking a single step back from the cliff, when you need to walk away from it. As Malus said, people like Frum paved the way for what the GoP is now, so needing people like that would simply reset the clock for the next round of crazy a few years down the line.
The GoP is facing massive demographic issues, getting enough people out to vote will eventually break the GoP on a national level.
