It is never too early to start thinking of the next set of elections when you are a political junkie! Let's look ahead to 2024! 2024 Republican presidential candidates: A list of who is or may be runningwww.npr.org/2023/03/08/1160113954/2024-republican-presidential-candidates-who-is-running-trackerThe people all ready running are: Donald Trump- Running to avoid arrest? Nikki Haley- Former UN Ambassador, and Governor of South Carolina - Running for a cabinet position with the real nominee's administration. Vivek Ramaswamy- Tech-Bro high on his own supply that has too much money to burn on a vanity project. There list of "maybe" is interesting with many of them downright delusional.

It's Trump vs. DeSantis as the only candidates that really matter. Trump as the original MAGA who still has a strong cult of personality, DeSantis on a platform of "my record in Florida proves that I'll give you what Trump failed to accomplish". Maybe there's room for one more, if they can consolidate the entire "anyone but those two" vote behind them and the Trump/DeSantis fight ends in mutual destruction fighting over the same base. But 95% it's Trump or DeSantis, and my personal bet is on DeSantis winning because too many people are tired of Trump's failures.

My gut tells me that DeSantis will whither under the National spotlight like former union-buster, Conservative darling Gov. Scott Walker. He had done what other R's couldn't as was a R darling, but could not get that momentum going on the National stage, despite those big victories against Teacher's and Unions.

There’s nobody good, no plan or reason to believe things will improve. I’m voting Trump soley because Jeb, Mcarthy, and neocons hate him.

Could be. Though I'm not sure it's directly comparable, union busting is great for the people in power but doesn't drive the cult-like engagement of all the culture war nonsense. I hope you're right though, Trump is the much weaker candidate in the general election so I want him to win the primary.

I don't want this to happen as it will be a week of sleepless nights for me come next November! The Biden/Trump election left me as an emotional wreck. And that's as someone living in the UK, I can't imagine what it will be like for someone in Ukraine whose very life and future could actually come down to the result of that election.

Would a gay libertarian attract more or less votes, what a test.

Trump was tacking shots at Florida on TRUTH Social, and in turn DeSantis.
Is the Republican Civil War finally about to break out, or will DeSantis chicken out and stand down?

Feels like he might bow out beforehand, his numbers against Trump are getting worse. He can afford to wait I assume, in 2028 Trump will be far less of an issue assuming Trump loses the general election next year. If Biden gets a second term, that is almost an assured red win in 2028 due to voters feeling the need to switch every few years?

Or wait and see if they finally indict/arrest trump and then hop into the void he leaves behind?

Nothing that says Trump can't run while on trial no? People voting in the primary probably couldn't care less about this issue.

If the choice is between Donald Trump and Joe Exotic, Joe Exotic is the obvious choice.
