Bob.. xD
That is most impressive! Especially for such a physical game.
Not ball-related (ho-ho) but there has been a World Champion motorcyclist, Ana Carassco, who won the 2018 Supersports 300 class. Admittedly a large part of her success was consistency, and most of her opponents being teenagers with a mindframe of 'victory or straw bales', but it was still mightily impressive.

Australia has absolutely shit the bed in the Rugby world cup, the only benefit to it is me not having to stay up until 0400 to see it. Awful stuff

A poor Wales side to go down to, too. Eddie Jones should be out on his arse but I don't imagine Rugby Australia will be keen to buy out his contract. Scotland need a bit of a miraculous run of results to go through.

Who are the favourites this year? Ireland and South Africa are the world number 1 and 2 (SA also current world champions and arguably one of the best sides of all time - but lost their group game to Ireland...). Due to the ludicrously early group draw, they're both in the same one (as are Scotland), but are both likely to get out of it at 1st and 2nd and then look likely to stroll through everyone else and meet again in the final.

The Ireland RSA game was one of the best games of rugby I have seen for some time. Both sides really wanted it, I think they both knew that contest was for the top billing.
I definitely think a poor Australia side flattered Wales, as they didn't look anything like that strong in the Six Nations, but on the other hand they have picked the right time to get some momentum. It will be interesting if Jones sticks around, although from what I have read from Australian commentary on the subject, the team has been poor for a while, there are problems at home in Australian rugby, and this result should not have been a shock. I guess with Jones they will tolerate his confrontational style as long as he gets results, which allowed him to persist at England for so long, but not if the team is getting trounced like that. I did laugh at all of the Welsh fans booing him every time the camera went to him for even 5 seconds though.
Think a couple of the scores have flattered England as a team. I am worried that their weaknesses will be shown as soon as they reach the knock-out stages and play a top tier team (or even Fiji, which looks like it might be likely, and of course beat England very recently).

Are NZ also underperforming at present?

I'll be honest I have only seen them recently in their loss to France, where they were beaten by an extremely motivated, passionate and competent French team. They have had a couple of surprising losses in the games leading up to the WC, but I think as a rule of thumb you can never discount them!

Are NZ also underperforming at present? Yes, but if you ask kiwis a lot of them would lay the blame for that at the feet of the coach, adamant that if he just picked the right team they'd do fine. So they may have a great team there, but just not be running it quite right for whatever reason

So it looks like Japan possibly going through after a win against Samoa, and I assume most likely lining up a game against Wales in the knockout stages?
Game line-ups this weekend look pretty poor so moving on to American Hand-egg.. does anyone think that the Dolphins are the real deal this year? Have a friend who is a super-fan and carries the genetic memory of shame of Dan Marino not winning a Superbowl and thinks this year 'might be it' (although he said that last year!) I didn't see the almost record-breaking 70pt scored against the Broncos, but did see the Patriots game and they looked like a very good team but just with a few wrinkles to iron out. Their QB certainly looks very talented!
In other NFL, I am now hoping for the Chiefs to do well this year, aside from finding Maholmes just an absolute joy to watch, Travis Kelce has now been deemed as 'woke' and all of the right-wing nut jobs secretly being massively jealous over him going out with Taylor Swift..
