The firearm manufacturers lobby is strong. So are those of us who actually do NEED our guns.

I like my guns. I just think the NRA has stopped representing owners long ago and are more concerned with their advertisers and manufacturers.

What does reset the clock mean in this context? The latest school shooting....

Oh.
Supposedly they have two shooters/suspects in custody. That's extremely uncommon (but not unheard of - Columbine had two shooters). I wonder if they'll end up releasing one or if there actually were two shooters/perpetrators.

Eh. It's still not as bad as school attacks WITHOUT guns.
At Bath they followed it up with a Truck bomb among onlookers and first responders after the main blast went off.
And of course, Walter Seifert use a flame thrower when he attacked a school. Not sure if we'd call that a gun.

I just looked up Walter Seifert. That's pretty messed up. I would call a flame thrower a weapon, but not really a gun.

Would you call a law restricting the ownership of flamethrowers a gun control law? No, though I would call it unusual. They're totally legal in 48 states, since banning them also means banning most types of gas furnace, lighters, and many types of brush and snow clearing equipment, some of which are simply marginally converted flame throwers, as are some types of crowd control equipment used by police. California and Maryland have unusual definitions of a flame thrower, based on the distance that flame can be projected and requiring it to be non-stationary, but not vehicle mounted.
So something like the South African Blaster, a car mounted flamethrower, is still fine under their laws. Also, it's possible to license them under those laws.
However, as an interesting example of how futile gun control laws are in school shooting prevention, in 1994, Garnet Stephen Seabrook Bell assaulted the Sullivan Upper Grammar School in Northern Ireland with one. Ownership of a flame thrower in the UK carries a ten year sentence and has since the 1960's.
An interesting article on flame throwers as self defense weapons.
