I'm also not sure it's something you'd bother lying about or that it's somehow hard to believe that a teenager worked in a McDonalds for a while.

Of course Trump knows the McDonalds menu better than Harris. Doesn't he eat from there multiple times a week? That's not the brag they seem to think it is.

Let's not knock Don Jr too hard, that's probably the most honest thing he's ever said about his dad

I'm also not sure it's something you'd bother lying about or that it's somehow hard to believe that a teenager worked in a McDonalds for a while. You would lie about it to brush up your 'working man/one of them' credentials. I can fully see people/politicians from a more wealthy background lying about it, but Trump trying to call people out on anything is like a black hole calling the kettle (suddenly!) black. As far as I know, Harris didn't exactly grow up with the sort of family wealth that requires you to lie about not being out of touch.

I worked for Burger King in my mid teens, for all of a few weeks. Didn’t earn enough to bother the tax man, and the franchise the branch belonged to is long since gone.
Good luck ever proving I worked there, I guess.

Bear in mind that Kamala worked in McDonalds some time in the early 80's, so there'd have been no digital record of it and unless someone took and kept a photo of her there'd be no evidence at all. I got my first job around 2000 and don't think I could prove any of them even the ones that weren't cash in hand. So many people work somewhere like McDonalds in college that it seems totally plausible anyway. I guess the Trump campaign doesn't really have anything better though.

The Kitchen only needs one Certified Food Handler who in theory makes sure everyone else is following guidelines, IIRC. Also in the news..... www.npr.org/2024/10/20/g-s1-29118/trump-elon-musk-pennsylvania-votersGov. Shapiro calls Musk's $1M offer to Pennsylvania voters 'deeply concerning'Hey, he is just exercising his first amendment rights where money is speech!

Is that a direct response to Cards Against Humanity? Seems like the level of petty we can expect from Musk.

Complete side-note, I have been wearing my Harris/Walz hat all over my deeply Red, very Trump, rural region. That includes going to the grocery store, the farm/ranch store, hardware store, walking downtown, and events at various fraternal clubs (Elks, American Legion, Eagles, etc).
To put it in perspective, there are 7 registered republicans, 1 registered Libertarian, and 1 registered Independent for every 1 registered Democrat. The Democrats could have their local convention with two pick-up trucks backed up next to each other. No joke, many local Democrats are afraid for their jobs and safety. They mostly stay underground and like me are often registered as Republicans in order to have any moderating voice in local politics. We are a closed primary state. For all intents an purposes, this is a single party political environment, and any real political issues are between Traditional, Big-Business Republicans and Republican MAGAs. The MAGAs are in the ascendancy.
I have had several folks comment on my hat and say, "I like your hat. Not many of us around here." However, my favorite was running into a guy at the Grocery Store decked out in Trump stuff. I gave him a smile and a nod of recognition as he scowled at me. However that was about the extent of any negative interactions, mostly just triple takes and the occasional scowl. Sometimes a rueful smile. However, I am hoping I am giving enough cover for other folks to consider voting Harris/Walz.

I'm not going to say there's any correlation between a restaurant that'd fail a health inspection and one that'd let Trump prepare food for a PR stunt.
I wonder how much he lied about paying them.

Reading some of the material about Musk trying to bolster support for Trump, extremely worrying. Quite interesting to read about the amount of big tech money behind it, of which Musk is the figurehead (and reporting that his effective $44 billion donation, in turning Twitter into a 4chan-esque cesspit of RW disinformation), but also how really the support is there for Vance. And looking at some of Trump's public appearance over recent weeks, there is every change the man they are really in support of (as their candidate) will become President should Trump win next month. Complete de-regulation of the tech industry and lowering of taxation. And some of the background of the 'brains' behind the Vance support - absolutely terrifying, sociopathic. PS - that sounds extremely brave of you easye !

He was probably just shocked by the cost, Ivana's funeral was almost free with how cheap those shovels were to rent.
