Which is looking good for him. I hope every idiot who voted third party or didn't vote because they didn't really fall in love with kamala enough to get off their ass suffers particularly badly in the next 4 years. So much so that they don't lazily skip elections or make cowardly, self-soothing decisions in the future

I find this so hard to believe. It’s tempting to believe the “secret” Trump mentioned before the election was some kind of shenanigans. I’d prefer that to knowing this country I love is fundamentally broken and probably not worth loving.

I’d prefer that to knowing this country I love is fundamentally broken and probably not worth loving. I think it will be interesting to see voter turnout in different areas. R's went hard into voter suppression where they could. I wouldn't be surprised if that is what flipped Georgia, for example.

Harris has more votes in Georgia than Biden did in 2020, just more Trump voters showed up this time.

Fair. So it is turnout that is the swing? How Trump 2024 and Vance have managed to galvanise so many voters is a mystery to me.

There's also the effect of the alternative being a black woman, a lot of people who may have skipped 2020 on Trump's side may have been motivated to get out to stop that happening

There's also the effect of the alternative being a black woman, a lot of people who may have skipped 2020 on Trump's side may have been motivated to get out to stop that happening I suspect this is what it came down to: racism and misogyny. That and the absolute morons who vote based on "the economy" and vote out the incumbent any time their budgets are tight, even if the alternative is promising to make it even worse. Which is looking good for him. I hope every idiot who voted third party or didn't vote because they didn't really fall in love with kamala enough to get off their ass suffers particularly badly in the next 4 years. So much so that they don't lazily skip elections or make cowardly, self-soothing decisions in the future The sad thing is a lot of the "I can't vote for genocide" clowns are probably going to do just fine. And who cares if Trump gives Israel a blank check for genocide as he inevitably will, at least they didn't vote for it.

Geopolitics are going to be great, those poor Ukrainians that gave their lives only to have it end like this.

(He won't, of course.)

I'm guessing Trump/the Heritage Foundation will at least use his senate majority to try and replace the two oldest conservative judges on the SC with much younger ones.
Maybe cooler heads will prevail on the tariff BS he has said, otherwise that's a great way to tank the global economy.
I assume Vance won't move on Trump like some on the internet expect. Why would he need to, you can just get Trump to sign whatever by flattering him a little.

Bright side? At least the prospect of him getting a third term seem pretty slim.
Though I wouldn’t put anything past his ego and narcissism.
