My son's best friend died from accidental fentanyl overdose via excessive fentanyl-laced weed. The authorities found the dealer who got his supplies from the Mexican cartel. So rather than blame the party that opposes legalizing weed and removing the threat of contamination with other drugs you decided to double down on your existing political beliefs no matter how absurd a reach it is. Your son's best friend died as a direct result of republican policies and now you're their biggest cheerleader. Such a moronic take. It's the democrat's policies that facilitated this via the open border polices. Weed is legal here, and has been for a few years.

It's funny. I believe that drug seizures went up under Biden compared to Trump's first term. That means that more drugs were stopped from entering the country under Biden. IE Biden was actually better than Trump as far as the border goes.
Plus, this ignores the American citizens that are dealing the frugs in the states.
Plus the fact that a larger percentage of American born 'Christians' are criminals than immigrants are.

What specific Democrat policies about "Open Border" (for whatever definition of that you mean) has lead to that? I mean, "Open Border" doesn't mean "take down the border crossing control and just let people walk/drive in". When you say "Open Border" you mean too many people are granted asylum/allowed to immigrate, right?

I'm pretty sure that's because Biden stopped separating families as a matter of policy, one of the rescinded border policies that the Republican party has been dinging him for, no? Many of the things being complained about at the detention facilities that were huge talking points included "kids in dog cages", over crowding, no toothbrushes, using foil to stay warm, etc. Objectively, most of the mainstream talking points got worse in the last 4 years.

Wow.... an article. That's totally the same as daily coverage for months on end, and having political figures stage fake-crying meltdowns at the gates of facilities for the cameras.

When Biden/Harris assumed office in 2020, he rescinded all the border policies that Trump put in place, that was working. Now, any migrants could cross the border illegally and simply claim asylum, knowing that it'd take years for the claims to be adjudicated. The Biden/Harris admin basically told the whole world, "come on in, we won't stop you", that effectively rendered a non-existent border. What this does, is gives the cartels ample opportunities to make massive money in: a) human trafficking b) ease of drug smuggling The amount of illicit drugs on the streets skyrocketed during the Biden/Harris administration. It didn't have to be this way. This was a choice. Fuck any and all who supports that choice.

Semi, cut him some slack, the poor guy is a visible democrat voter in a very red area and given the history of the red areas it's not unlikely he's going to have some form of retribution, hopefully just a social sort rather than any type of physical or financial. But he has a long four years ahead. Give him a minute to vent against someone who only came back to write 'fap' 10 times and not engage constructively at all. He didn't do it to carlo, who does actually talk and engage. Just the fool. Actually, I think he did reply "fap" to one of my posts.

I suggest you read it, to see why people were behaving as they were when the policy was in place. The Trump family separation policy was awful from every imaginable perspective. And here is some audio to go with it. youtu.be/PoncXfYBAVI?si=ndfwpai1K1FFLQH5

You can catch more rats in a junkyard than an operating room. It doesn't mean there are less rats because you caught more, it just means there were more rats to catch. Also, let's not confound "immigrant" with "illegal immigrant".

Not separating them has also proven to be less than desirable, with kids being released into the custody of people not proven to be relatives, and then being "lost" and totally unaccounted for.

At just a quick and dirty comparison I'm struggling to see how that's a reasonable conclusion.
There's been a huge surge of immigrants apprehended since Biden took office, true enough. If what was keeping the numbers down previously was Trump's policies shouldn't there be a marked difference compared to Obama's administration which lacked these policies though? Further, how does the gigantic spike in 2019 factor into this? There's also the fact, as noted in the link, that the reporting methodology changed from March 2020, counting both apprehensions and expulsions as "encounters"; I'm trying to see if I can find some more on that since how that's handled can impact the numbers immensely or not at all.

Read the article. This was not carried out like any other family separation as a result of conviction for a crime. You had Trump government officials seeking to intentionally sabotage reunification of children and their families. The HHS was not even informed of the policy which would result in thousands of extra children put into their care until it was already underway, with no official records of where the children's parents had been sent or how to contact them being made available. Parents were deported without their children, some to the day of that articles publication, 4 years after the separation, had not been reunified.

Such a moronic take. It's the democrat's policies that facilitated this via the open border polices. Weed is legal here, and has been for a few years. If weed is legal then the risk of fentanyl in your weed is no more than the risk of fentanyl in your cheeseburger. The only reason to buy questionable weed from cartel sources is if weed is illegal and the party that wants to keep it that way is the one you support. Now, any migrants could cross the border illegally and simply claim asylum, knowing that it'd take years for the claims to be adjudicated. That's a profoundly stupid argument even for you. Drug smugglers aren't crossing the border and then handing themselves over to the cops to claim asylum, they're trying to get in without getting caught. They want to get their drugs across and then get back to their home country to pick up more drugs for the next trip. Handing themselves over to the cops to have their drugs confiscated and be put into the asylum system for years is about the dumbest possible thing to do as a smuggler.

Add in that the argument then boils down to we shouldn't allow asylum seekers do what they are legally entitled to do because there might be someone trying to do something 'illegal' along with it.
Imagine trying to apply that reasoning to something else that people are legally allowed to do...Like own firearms...
